Honda has finally designed a prototype that can safely drive itself. The vehicle, an Acura RLX Sedan, can be hands free or automatic if the driver wants to take control. The Acura RLX has lasers that are constantly scanning its surroundings as well as cameras that monitor the lanes. It can drive accordingly to the speed limit, break when necessary, merge into traffic, and change lanes on its own. The vehicle is even aware of construction zones and knows when to merge to avoid barrier cones. This vehicle is what we think of when we imagine the future of driving.
